Life with Father Review

Life With Father, an American movie classic. Written in reminiscence of Clarence Day Jr. about his father Mr. Day, and brought to the screen in such a delightful way! Life with Father is full of classic humor and wit which makes the movie all the funnier when you watch it a second or third time! filled with amazing principles and a love for family values. Staring Best Actor William Powell as Clarence Day, who is the father of four redhead boys and the husband of beautiful Vinny (Irene Dunn.) Vinny has discovered that her husband has never been baptized and is in a crisis to make sure she doesn't go to heaven without him. Mr. Day is sure that Vinny can help him jump the fence when the time comes. Little does he know that his innocent wife will challenge his autocratic opinion!I love Life with Father because of the humor, but most of all because of the values that show us what American life looks like. Overall, this film represents what our wonderful God-given Country was founded on. This family is what our founding fathers had in mind when thinking about what life would be like in future generations. It is the clear embodiment of what our country was meant to be; "Father' represents 'the system', our government with his steadfastness, opposition to lower taxes, personal responsibility, common sense, thrifty, hardworking, small government, no government handouts to the lazy, holding our elected officials to such standards, (Basically the Conservative model).

Vinny on the other hand, while perhaps a little religious to us "moderns", she represents the backbone of our Country... Christianity; it is worth noting here that the 2 parents complement each other in perfect harmony while still having a number of disagreements. Last but not least, the children, who represent 'The People' who are completely encouraged to follow the ideals of both parents but never forced... Clearance Day Jr. Who's talents and ambitions are clearly overshadowed by his quest of finding a bride, which is perfectly natural in a young man his age, reminds me of a Teddy Roosevelt with his optimism in life...... The 2 little youngest boys with their playing around, studying their Christian principles and doctrines, taking responsibility over each other, observing and learning the American ideal in full display, etc...

What a beautiful picture these two are of what little boys ought to be doing at that age. If your looking for a movie with conservative beliefs than you'll love Life With Father, definitely an American Movie Classic.
