Pearl Harbor a story of two farm boys growing up together. Rafe (Ben Affleck and Danny (Josh Hartnett) are best friends who become fighter pilots. Rafe falls in love with a Naval nurse, Evelyn (Kate Beckinsale) when he is called away to help fight the war in Europe. Evelyn later hears of Rafe's death. While still morning for Rafe, Evelyn and Danny fall in love. On Sunday December 7th 1941 the Japanese bombed pearl harbor. The same day Rafe returns home discovering his best friend had fallen for his girl Evelyn. From a Conservative definition, I'm sorry to say that this movie was very disappointing. The story is more of a General Hospital drama than of a true American historical memorial movie, instead of honoring and remembering that tragic day and showing us how America overcame it. Instead the movie is a Teenybopper, love triangle with 45 minutes of the actual attack of Pearl Harbor and its now under the "War Movies" category We need to definitely look for some Hollywood Conservatives and ask them to take over and give us an authentic war film!
PROFANITY & VULGARITY: 5 -SOME ( Profanity and Vulgarity.)
SEX, NUDITY (MORAL): 6- MUCH ( a sexual scene with Evelyn and Danny. Bad sexual talk)
VIOLENCE: 7 - LOTS ( Very violent when the actual attack takes place. )
CONSERVATIVE RATING: 3 - BARELY ( The Conservative principles are very weak. )
PRO-AMERICAN & WESTERN VALUES: 5 SOME - ( You would think that this movie would be pro American because of the fact that it is about the attack. I get the feeling that the story has watered down the pure historical significance of that day.The trailer in this movie is probably the only great part of the movie! )
JUDEO-CHRISTIAN VALUES: 3 BARELY - ( The morals are poor, the characters are very poor. The only character I really liked was Danny, he was the one who died for his country. )
FAMILY VALUES: 3 BARELY - ( Lets just say I would only let my kids watch the 45 minutes of the Japanese destroying our land. To teach them the reason America must go to war and that there is a real true threat to our freedom. )
