The Man From Snowy River is a classic favorite in family house holds today. After Jim Craig (Tom Burlington, Australian actor) is pushed off his land when his father is killed in a fatal accident, and no longer able to claim it. Jim has no choice but to leave his home. Seeking work out of the snowy river valley he finds a job with a rich rancher, (kirk Douglas) who has a beautiful wild daughter Jessica ( Sigrid Thornton) Jim and Jessica learn to be friends. Jessica's "modern" characteristics bring out a bad relationship with her father. One of the family's expensive colts breaks loose and joins the wild herd of horses called the brumbees. Jim is blamed and must prove to his boss that he is worthy of his daughter. The famous scene when Jim takes matters into his own hands, returning to the wild and untamed Snowy River where the lost colt has joined the wild horses. Jim finally realizes where he truly belongs.
