Movies Genre Description |
Drama Movies are productions or stories with a serious tone about real
life or settings situations.
The subject-matter presented in the film illustrates a broad array of
dramatic plots; we can safely say that these movies are the largest
genre and even reach into most of the other categories. Merriam-Webster
Defines Drama as: a movie or television production with characteristics
(as conflict) of a serious play; broadly: a play, movie, or television
production with a serious tone or subject.
A movie maker, as any storyteller does, usually portrays the film from
his world point of view, and often utilizes current issues and/or
events such as religious injustices (anti-Semitism, etc), drug
problems, political views, and so on, to make his point clear.
The problem with this is that there is usually no one to challenge his
point of view and eventually (if the film is successful enough) it will
become a part of the "new culture" or "pop culture"; now, there is a
real danger! Such issues must be dealt with and resolved responsibly
from a Westernized position.
Why?
because the Western world has always been the action taker and the
answer to the world's problems.
Since Hollywood insists on making films that stand against American and
Western points views, something must be done about it. Remember Drama
Films are about serious and real issues; so we too must be serious and
real.
