Genre Description |
These films are:
the filming or videotaping of a television program (as a documentary)
so as to convey candid realism.
(note: meaning of realism
is: accurate representation without idealization) -Merriam-Webster
Dictionary-
So in order to avoid bias here the producer has to rely exclusively on
absolute 'truth'; this type non-fictional work representing real life
events or stories is better known as cinema verite. But as we might
imagine some of these film makers have not always played by the rules;
with the coming of more narrative-based works many became
propagandistic and non-objective.
Though film makers may not always play by the rules we can. Films on
this page have been reviewed from a "cinema verite" point of view.
Enjoy!
